February is short on days (but not this year)

and filled with fun!

Fill your home with construction paper valentines decorated with doilies, lace, and ribbon.

Visit the post office.  It’s a great fun to make a valentine and send it to someone special through the mail.

Use
IMG_6362
a heart cookie cutter to celebrate family love all month long.  Enjoy heart-shaped toast topped with strawberry jelly.

Make a family graffiti sign of love.  Tape a large heart-shaped paper to your refrigerator.  Invite each family member to draw people, places, and objects (e.g., a teddy bear) they love.  Watch this wonderful picture of love grow.

During mealtime prayer, give thanks for one or two special things about each person at the table.  Delighted smiles will light up the room.

Choose or purchase a special plate(s) to use for meals of celebration—birthdays, baptismal anniversary, name day, wedding anniversaries, start and end of school year, job promotion, holy days, holidays, or any special occasion the family wishes to celebrate.

Set up a gadget band.  Use a variety of housewares—pots, pans, spoons, cans, etc.  Invite each member of the family to choose and instrument.  Then fill the house with joyful noise, smiles, and laughter.

Assist

your child in making paper place mats for your dinner table on St. Valentine’s Day.  Decorate the place mats using crayons or makers.  Encourage your child to use his or her oven design ideas.

Tape a picture of Jesus on your kitchen door.  Arrange cut-out hearts around the picture of Jesus.  On each heart display a picture of a family member.

QUOTES
"I love being able to bring my college students to observe at SEAS preschool.  I know that they will see a well planned, nurturing environment along with a strong developmentally appropriate curriculum and a dedicated staff of trained professionals.  This is a great place!"

Jill K. Behnke, M.S.

Child Development Instructor-Dakota County Technical College

"As members of SEAS parish, we felt this preschool environment was where we wanted our sons to prepare for kindergarten.  We really liked the integration of prayer into the preschool day.  We also liked how the preschool staff encouraged parents to participate as parent  helpers in the classroom and also on the field trips and extra fun days.  We highly recommend SEAS preschool because of the great staff and curriculum."

Jenny & Joe Harris

"We have sent three of our children to SEAS preschool and plan on sending our fourth child also.  SEAS preschool has had a positive affect on preparing our kids for kindergarten by getting them excited to start the "big school".  The preschool staff are very patient and caring teachers with great control of the classroom. We have been very pleased with how much the kids have learned throughout the year and how the teachers have promoted being a caring individual and to respect  others.  We would definitely recommend the SEAS preschool program."
